Photometry Setup

The Photometry setup allows following changes in biological activity on fast time scales assayed by a variety of fluorescence indicators.

The two main applications are:
FRET analysis
e.g. to analyse G protein-coupled receptor activation as described here and

Calcium measurements in combination with electrophysiology.


The Photometry system is available as single or dual channel system. The fluorescence signals can be sampled unprocessed or as already integrated signals from 2 analog output channels. This way the system is easily interfaced to programs for electrophysiology or general purpose data acquisition software, which can be also provided with the system.
